Because of the previous weeks win Randy would need to start the heat race and feature at the end of the field ( Track Rules ). The heat race had gotten a little rough and crazy with drivers spinning other drivers and so i (Jr. ) made a call to randy to bring the car into the pit before we got wrecked. We were going to be at the rear anyway so we were both saving our tires and most of all keeping the car in one piece. Its now Feature time, the 9 car field is now set with Jeff Burgess on the pole and randy at the rear with a long way to go. The first 6 cars are very experienced and competitive at this track , but last years Championship driver is up to the challenge. The green is now in the air and randy started right away passing cars both inside and outside which ever lane was open and continously moved to the front one car after another. The caution come out at about half way with scott moore having a hole in his oil tank which left the track with alot of oil and speeddry on the track which made for a lenghty clean up, and several laps of cars up to speed trying to blow the speedydry off the track. After the track was believed to be ok to race on the flagman crossed the cars up with scott king on the pole and randy out side pole for the restart, when the green come out both cars had good take off and were dead even and a little rubbing partially to a dirty track and both trying to take the lead, but at the end of the first lap of the restart randy was leading and pulled away to a comfortable lead with about 5 laps to go charlie colby got by scott king who was quite fast but randy won at the checkers with a bit of a distance. Back To Back wins doesnt come easy or happen often at a race track in the prostock division so this is very impressive. This couldnt have happened without our GREAT pitcrew and great work and tecnical advise from Distance Racing ( Thank You Jeff & Shawn ), All and all R.T.R. had a very good day in the 09 Toyota Camry. Thank You to all Crew & Fans!! |
